Mix & Mastering Service

Do you wonder why your songs don't sound quite as good as the ones you hear on the radio? You need professional mastering!

What mastering can do for your song:

• Bigger, more focused radio-friendly sound
• Increased perceived loudness
• Wider stereo image
• Noise and hiss reduction
• Harmonic enhancement

Many producers will claim to be able to master the song themselves. This may be true but when they have heard the song over a hundred times it's very difficult for to listen to the song objectively. When I listen to your song I will notice any issues that may have been overlooked during mixing.

I use a technique called mid-side processing to achieve a lot more than you might expect to be possible from a single audio track. I can tighten up the bass by removing low frequencies from the sides for example. I can even lower or raise the vocal level or add reverb to guitars without affecting other elements. I never use 'presets' and only make changes when they feel right for the song.

I can also produce and mix your songs, even adding additional instrumentation if required. My mix process is methodical and detailed, often manually automating levels rather than using compression. When I use effects I usually blend them with the original sound, adding colour without taking anything away.

Use my prices below as a guide. Sometimes audio will require additional processing to remove unwanted noise and this can be very time-consuming. Once I know the details of a project I can give you a more accurate estimate.

Mid-Side Mastering £10
Stem Mastering £15
Basic Mix (less than 12 tracks) £20
Standard Mix (12 to 24 tracks) £30
Complex Mix (over 24 tracks) £40
Master an EP £40
Master an album £60

Optional Extras:
Record an acoustic percussion part (egg shaker, tambourine or maracas) £5
Double track an existing part using a software synth £10
Add a rhythm guitar overdub (electric or acoustic) £15
Record backing vocals (choice of male or female singer) £30
Record a bass part using a DI box £30
Perform an electronic drum part £30

When recording I tend to play parts that are fairly simple and compliment the song. The drums are processed using Addictive Drums software which provides a great variety of different kit sounds. I will supply two versions of your song, one with and one without the extra instrumentation. If you don't like the extras, you don't have to pay for them!

Payment is usually made using PayPal but I also accept cheques.

Typical procedure will be as follows:
• Email me a link to the audio and your goals for the project.
• I will let you know how soon the work will take.
• Once work is completed I send you a 1 minute preview of the finished track(s) for you to evaluate.
• I will make any changes to the mix until you are totally satisfied with the result.
• Upon receipt of payment I send you the full song in MP3, WAV, FLAC or any format you require.

Thank you for taking the time to read my advert and I hope you consider using my service.
